Do you know Mazarin?
Mazarin came about in 2022, co-founded by Louise de Rothschild and Keagan Ramsamy. Gemologists who honed their expertise in the rarefied world of the saleroom, appraising antique jewelry at Christie’s and Pierre Bergé, they felt compelled to transform a vision informed by history into a future-facing jewelry house.
Their ambition went beyond creating a brand. Their aim was to fuse heritage with modernity. When naming their new venture, Mazarin seemed the obvious choice: a reference to the cardinal and noted collector, renowned for his love of gemstones and the arts. This historic figure aligned perfectly with their desire to dig deep into the jewelry past and, from there, imagine contemporary, profoundly creative pieces with a powerful identity. /public-objects/cc38197d-f2ff-42da-8f5b-77b041f8e7a3-0d06aabd-102b-4ebd-af36-fd0c3366cc5c-Mazarin_Post_1080x135020.webp Image sélectionnée Each of the two co-founders has a distinct role within the business, with Ramsamy heading artistic direction and design while de Rothschild develops the brand’s strategic vision and sales strategy. Both, however, share the same expectations of attention to detail and quality gemstones, forged through years of contact with thousands of antique jewels, and recognize the importance of jewelry-making expertise together with client relations. /public-objects/081f8d18-3a15-46a6-adbd-0ee554a77ced-0c95bc1a-e3b9-4c7f-807b-45c0abafea62-Mazarin_V1_00017.webp Image sélectionnée Mazarin lost no time in establishing a design language, taking the elephant as its totem: a universal symbol chosen as much for the animal’s strength as for its memory and intelligence. Hand-sculpted by the same artisans who work for the great jewelry houses of Place Vendôme, the Éléphant collection highlights organic, expressive pieces. Alongside it, the Eboris collection, inspired by elephant tusks, explores a more abstract, sensual language. /public-objects/85968155-0aac-408c-aae2-108b449cf5a4-f65271ec-ce3f-4a0e-b2cd-dd49120df297-Mazarin_Post_1080x135013.webp Image sélectionnée Having initially opted for lab-grown diamonds, the two founders rapidly rethought their strategy after listening to customers, who sought creativity and emotion in the jewelry they wore. Mazarin responded by refocusing on natural stones and on a more patrimonial approach. The majority of its clientele are women with an interest in art and design, who appreciate French craftsmanship. Many already own classic pieces and come to Mazarin in search of a more unusual, more striking design that carries meaning and emotion. With a well established presence in Paris, and a dozen points of sale in other French cities, Mazarin is expanding Stateside, never departing from its core philosophy to propose contemporary, artistic, expressive jewelry, where every piece tells a story
