Wanderings of a Queen by Breguet

Breguet, a name that resonates powerfully in watchmaking, and whose foundational history with women is best illustrated by its emblematic Reine de Naples collection.

The origins of the Reine de Naples collection date back to an order placed between 1810 and 1812 by Caroline Murat, Napoleon I's sister and Queen of Naples, for an oblong-shaped wristwatch, considered the first watch designed to be worn on a woman's wrist. Let's not forget that ladies of the time wore their watches as pendants. More than two centuries later, the petite ovoid silhouette with its curved contours has become a true signature, both horologically and in jewelry. The only 100% feminine line from Breguet, the Reine de Naples has evolved over the decades, adorned with mother-of-pearl, pearls, and ornamental stones. On the occasion of the house's 250th anniversary celebrated in 2025, the collection has been enriched with new interpretations that further emphasize its vocation as adornment, a jewel that tells the time. In terms of high jewelry, two gold versions have been unveiled: Crazy Flower and Imperial Pearls. The former, a mobile composition entirely paved with 436 diamonds, is inspired by the white and yellow frangipani flower, echoing the tones of gold and diamonds. As for the latter, it majestically features the Akoya pearl - considered the most precious of all with its perfectly smooth, round, and iridescent surface - and combines an opal dial background with a full setting of the case, middle, flange and bezel. /public-objects/92d2f017-f3b6-48cf-96c3-1ad05845b564-ecf0f00b-bb77-461c-8851-2bd1ca18511f-GEM-T%20-%20Photos%20-%20Substack-7.webp Image sélectionnée Two more references have been introduced for the 250th anniversary of the house. The Queen of Naples 9935 is available in four models, one of which features aventurine glittering with copper and enhanced with diamonds, serving as indices, around the dial, on the bezel, on the case, and also in a snow setting on a round attachment at 6 o'clock that serves as the base for the brand-new gold bracelet. Gold and diamonds continue to dominate in the second version, the reference 8925 (three models), which plays on an intensified setting and a more minimalist dial to enhance the jewelry aspect of the piece. /public-objects/b3fb19c3-221c-45ef-85b1-1b3159f24a73-3f2c0798-473e-442f-8871-4907e2dd7873-GEM-T%20-%20Photos%20-%20Substack-6.webp Image sélectionnée
