Pomellato's new talismans
Pomellato once again opens its archives to us. Following Mora, Mosaico, and then Bisanzio, the Memorie d’Archivio series resurrects for 2026 a lucky charm pendant born in 1997: Moneta Orientale, a disc pierced in its center by a square, reminiscent of an ancient coin.
But why a square within a circle? Since the earliest coins of the East, the circle has represented the sky, and the square, the earth—fortune on one side, inner stability on the other. Thus, Pomellato turns these two paired shapes into a talisman of prosperity and protection. At their center, a disc cut from a hard stone chosen for its hue: black jade and tourmalinated quartz for their deep shades, amazonite and sodalite to evoke the colors of the sea and sky, kiwi jade and rhyolite for their green vitality, rutilated quartz and labradorite for their light, and finally, rhodochrosite and red agate for their warmth. Upon the setting of the jewel, the maison 's signature irregular paving illuminates the hard stone and scatters its white, black, or brown diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and demantoids without any geometric order. The matte of the stone against the sparkle of the gems, offered in 33 combinations. Two sizes for two temperaments. The larger model dares to pave the entire setting, up to the prongs in its most precious fully set version; the smaller retains its polished rose gold frame with paving only on the prongs.
