Marli, the rhythm of life

Founded in New York in 2014 by Maral Artinian, MARLI is extending its repertoire to watches, with the introduction of LIFE, its first time piece collection. This new creative space builds naturally on the design language that has shaped the brand’s identity over the past 12 years. Its creations capture the energy and confidence of New York in a modern vision of luxury as a form of self-expression. A personal statement for every day.

A mission statement that celebrates liberated self-expression and champions individuality. A style signature? Yes! And while the jewelry we wear says something about who we are—our tastes, our ambitions—, the watch on our wrist is just as telling. Our everyday companions, guardians of passing time, the LIFE timepieces collection joins the world of MARLI as a natural extension of its visual language. /public-objects/048f515e-a7c2-4bf9-b9e1-ebb11d2c34f8-ec6bd0cb-e437-4ada-b268-3eb381fb2be5-2.webp Image sélectionnée INSPIRED BY NEW YORK Since launching 12 years ago, MARLI jewelry has stood out for its striking design vocabulary and singular approach, grounded in clean lines, geometric shapes and the sculptural architecture of the city that never sleeps. “New York felt instinctive to me.” says Maral Artinian, who chose the city as the bedrock of her brand. “It is a city defined by movement. There is something about the city–its energy, its architecture, its confidence–that felt completely aligned with the world I wanted to build.” The instantly recognizable, ultra-structured silhouettes and timeless nature of MARLI’s jewelry resonate with the straight lines of New York’s skyscrapers and the city’s precise grid layout. They also echo its unique vitality. At the center of this unmistakable visual language is the pyramid motif. MARLI’s most iconic signature, it lends its forms to the ornamental stones, including agate, onyx, chalcedony and lapis lazuli, that adorn Cleo bangles, rings, necklaces and earrings. It elevates the meticulously crafted geometry of LIFE jewelry with a precious touch. Now, this pyramid motif is showing yet another side, on the dial of LIFE timepieces. /public-objects/2b7180eb-e4f8-4746-8af7-7bdd7a0816eb-ecf06d8c-c04e-40e3-8381-70d8844deb42-3.webp Image sélectionnée THE DIAL: THREE YEARS AND A NATURAL CONCLUSION On each of the L23, L30 and L35 models (named for their 23mm, 30mm or 35mm diameter), the eye is instantly drawn to the threedimensional tapisserie dial whose pyramid motif infuses MARLI watchmaking with infinite character. Machined from natural motherof-pearl, each dial is sculpted into an expanse of precisely formed pyramids whose disciplined architecture creates a perfectly uniform depth. The dial’s surface constantly evolves as these pyramid motifs catch changing light and reflect it differently, with each movement of the wrist. Achieving this effect on the scale of a dial required specially engineered machinery. “That is often the paradox of design.” Maral Artinian observes. “The details that feel the most effortless are usually the ones that require the most rigor behind the scenes.” Proof of this, the manufacturing process for the dials took three years of research and development. That MARLI should expand into watchmaking was only a matter of time, particularly as this new creative channel builds on internal craftsmanship and expertise: MARLI belongs to the family-owned Artinian Group, which since 2019 has operated its own manufacture, PreciTech SA in Le Locle, a historic center of Swiss watchmaking. It’s here, in four buildings covering 6,000 square meters, formerly the site of Renaud & Papi, that every component, from the case to the metal bracelet, down to the winding crown, is produced and assembled. There are also workshops for decoration and diamond-setting. It’s a rare mark of legitimacy for a jeweler that chooses to keep time using Swiss movements: quartz for the 23mm and 30mm models; automatic with hand-executed circular graining and Côtes de Genève decorations for the 35mm version. /public-objects/cd7557ab-d728-4e09-ba4f-4405edf87f00-6211e341-e7f3-4a1e-9f74-3d1116bb1883-4.webp Image sélectionnée THE JEWEL THAT DEFINES TIME All three models are designed for daily wear. The L35 stands out for its particularly sculptural architecture. Surmounted by a faceted bezel, the case in rose gold or titanium is a multi-layer construction, worn on an embossed rubber strap whose texture replicates the pyramid pattern on the dial. The L23 and L30 models in the debut collection opt for a more rounded silhouette, accentuated by a bezel adorned with EF VS diamonds. Jewels as well as timepieces, they too are emblazoned with MARLI’s signature pyramid shape, on the dial as well as around the bezel and on the crown. Interchangeable straps in five colors in satin and three in alligator, alongside a gold bracelet inspired by Manhattan’s urban grid, offer multiple opportunities for personalization—to be oneself, day and night, wherever life takes you. /public-objects/35157218-cf11-4473-9f89-70301e8ede30-70489433-e969-4a55-933d-eb50fa9239f7-5.webp Image sélectionnée
