Lou Doillon Evokes the Four Elements at Arthus Bertrand
Parisian jeweler-goldsmith Arthus Bertrand collaborates with artist, writer, and musician Lou Doillon to bring to life a collection of medallions inspired by the four elements.
"Earth, fire, water, and air, to be in one's element," says Lou Doillon. "I've always loved jewelry. A rock collection, reflecting the multi-talented young woman, into which she has breathed her rebellious spirit and summoned the engraving expertise of Arthus Bertrand to create jewelry to wear close to oneself, like true talismans. Made in silver, the "Aqua" medallion captures the fluidity of movement on water: it depicts a hand lightly touching the blue liquid, thus creating a delicate ripple. A symbolic gesture evoking gentleness. The "Earth" in vermeil features a hand picking a four-leaf clover, symbol of luck and abundance. The "Fire" medallion, adorned with red and black, is engraved with the depiction of a hand igniting a flame, this element embodying energy and passion. Finally, through "Air", a hand holding a windmill invites us to wear this symbol of invisible breath and freedom around our neck.
