HIGH JEWELRY - Boucheron: We are the precious ones
Each year, Boucheron's Carte Blanche serves as Claire Choisne's laboratory. This time, her gaze turns towards us: in the era of artificial intelligence, the most precious material is the human being.
Human Being is proof of this, with over 14,000 hours of work invested into five parures. The approach is crystal clear. They all stem from the same form, that of the cluster necklace, a grand classic in jewelry, here symbolizing what connects us. Each one stands out with unique craftsmanship, reflecting our individualities. Rain gives the illusion of a rain of diamonds on the skin. Artisans cast a bio-sourced resin into hollow rock crystal droplets, then set, one by one, under vacuum, more than 4,800 diamonds, until the necklace's structure disappeared entirely. /public-objects/dd455323-077a-405f-a053-d7398087f93d-1be6fed5-af97-4711-a467-8768ba543929-BOUCHERON-HUMAN-BEING-RAIN.webp Image sélectionnée /public-objects/db876fe1-a591-4b94-b884-eb70d3516900-001982d9-0fc4-4d91-82c0-e90fffc2548d-BOUCHERON-HUMAN-BEING-TATTOO-12.webp Image sélectionnée Tattoo , in turn, engraves directly into the smoky quartz Victorian-inspired motifs drawn from the archives, such as the poppy, the cicada, or the snake. The technique chosen, glyptic engraving, carves the stone in hollow relief, without color: the design emerges only through texture. A monumental undertaking of 1,100 hours, for which the artisan forged more than 200 tools, reshaping them again and again as the quartz wore them down. Checkers , in turn, etches a houndstooth pattern into onyx using femtosecond laser technology, a technique borrowed from watchmaking. The stone becomes fabric: each of the 163 drops is designed so that the weave continues without interruption. /public-objects/e850c60a-b508-4b9a-aa1d-90051ed6b010-79638f53-de43-4757-b225-2699ea6fdd66-BOUCHERON-HUMAN-BEING-CHECKERS-16.webp Image sélectionnée Remaining are Flower , each of its rose quartz painstakingly hand-painted under a binocular microscope, requiring nearly 10 hours per stone, and Light , whose morganite, too delicate for hammering, has been set with prongs screwed in one by one. Finally, the most beautiful gesture of all: Boucheron and Claire Choisne do not thank a team, but individuals, Larissa, Eva, Maxime, Salvatore... all these artisans to whom we owe these five extraordinary sets. Proof that the house truly celebrates the person before the appearance. /public-objects/b4f8b7e2-d38f-441f-8d51-0b1c3cc1b65d-03f13ea5-0bf0-4e39-8f3d-7553ba7b3684-BOUCHERON-HUMAN-BEING-FLOWER-4.webp Image sélectionnée /public-objects/29f63135-9fc3-471d-9132-c176ba8a67e2-430a3aab-3c8e-4ee7-8a15-79744c269d71-BOUCHERON-HUMAN-BEING-LIGHT-8.webp Image sélectionnée
