Formerly head of collections at Hermès Joaillerie, Brunet was adamant that she didn’t want to launch a new brand. “I was more interested in the possibility of proposing several designers and offering beautifully hand-crafted joaillerie d’auteur.” Accordingly, her showroom-atelier presents the work of eight designers who explore their medium in personal but complementary ways, from Sophie Autard’s hand-engraved pieces to Rossella Ugolini’s typically Italian generosity; from Gabriela Sismann’s tactile approach to History to Lara Koulajian’s subtle equilibrium between ancestral metalsmithing and modern sleekness. Alongside these contemporary makers, Joalie is also a studio crafting bespoke pieces and carries a curated selection of vintage jewelry that is authenticated by Brunet’s cousin, the art historian Laure Dorchy.
