FRED, A Winning Service on Clay Courts
Jewelry and tennis once again find themselves intertwined on the Parisian clay this year. Indeed, FRED and Roland-Garros have been nurturing a camaraderie since 2023.
A meeting that ultimately flows naturally for the "solar jeweler", whose founder Fred Samuel and his sons are passionate about sailing, made self-transcendence a true philosophy. It was in 1966 that the eldest imagined the Force 10 bracelet by weaving marine steel cables closed by a shackle, creating this famous U-shaped carabiner borrowed from rigging. Its name refers to the Beaufort scale, where force 10 designates a storm wind. Sixty years later, the nautical icon once again trades the foam for the ochre of the courts. For the 2026 edition, the collection unveils six new creations. The feminine pieces lead the dance: for the first time, a Force 10 Precious Small necklace and bracelet enter the game. As a nod to the chromatic trilogy of the tournament, the ochre of the clay court, the yellow of the tennis ball, and the white of the lines, the yellow gold shackle is adorned with a gradient of mandarin garnets, yellow sapphires and white diamonds on a chain punctuated by a spessartite garnet and a plaque with the Roland-Garros crest. Followed by four limited editions designed for mixed doubles: a medium-sized yellow gold shackle set with orange sapphires, accompanied by a cable with a unique sunshine yellow, terracotta, and red weave; and, for the final hour, a large cable uniting navy blue with terracotta, with yellow or white gold tips.
