Brutalism and Art Deco are the raw material for a radical and precise geometry, sculpted into a wearable manifesto. After a long line of creations in rhodium plated silver paired with natural diamonds, Huynh gradually extended her palette to 18k gold, though never deviating from her signature radicality. From the iconic My Way, a line rooted in Art Deco that recently introduced malachite, to the new Rivet collection by way of the pyramidal volumes of Rockaway, the vocabulary is unchanged: architectural lines, powerful symbols and jewelry intended as an extension of the self. MARIE CABIROU, MARIE MAS OBSESSED BY MOVEMENT Trained at École Duperré and Institut Français de la Mode, going on to the Dior jewelry studio under Raf Simons, Marie Cabirou founded Marie Mas in 2017 as a tribute to her maternal grandmother, Henriette Mas. Her one obsession: jewelry in motion. Set with natural stones, her jewelry twists and tumbles, switching sides and changing color in time with the wearer’s movements. From the inaugural Swinging Stones through to The Wave and its diamond-studded stems that quiver on the finger, each collection invents a different experience, using ingenious constructions to inspire sensations. Established in 1969 by André Gas, a Fine Arts graduate who majored in engraving, the company is now helmed by his daughter, Marie, in her role as artistic director since 2000. Unable to resist the creative environment she grew up in—the family-run studio in Roucas-Blanc, a district of Marseille with sweeping views of the sea, where each piece is handcrafted by the company’s 70 artisans—, she imprints her vision across the brand. Awarded Living Heritage Company status, Gas Bijoux explores its unique territory of haute fantaisie. Enameling, hammering, gem-setting, weaving with raffia or feathers, every collection is a melting pot of materials sourced from around the world, implemented using techniques passed down through generations. The results are as sunny, colorful and joyously chic as the Mediterranean itself.
