Cartier, The Choir of Stones: The Gem Above All

It was within the private confines of Château Saint-Maur, near Saint-Tropez, that Cartier unveiled the first chapter of Le Chœur des Pierres, its new High Jewelry collection.

A Mediterranean setting was chosen to allow the light to reveal every nuance of the more than 125 unique pieces on display, a collection that required some 85,000 hours of work in the Parisian workshops. The title of this collection cleverly plays on the French homophony of chœur (choir) and cœur (heart), summarizing the creative approach: the gem dictates the design. Pierre Rainero, the maison 's Director of Image, Style, and Heritage, explains that "The designs stem from the very essence of each stone, to reveal their unique and fascinating identity; the jeweler combines materials in powerful chromatic compositions." /public-objects/55c418ce-0e34-40f0-b0f3-04bf9366b0ad-f660210c-1b9c-48c6-ac93-4e98ddd0bef3-GEM-T%20-%20Photos%20-%20Substack-7.webp Image sélectionnée The collection thus stages a unique accumulation of center stones, among which are several gemological rarities: a 50.13 carat Ceylon cabochon sapphire on the Panthère Kentia necklace, a lineup of five Colombian emeralds totaling 40.67 carats on Olorra , or a Colombian sugarloaf-cut emerald of 20.24 carats on the Tetraya ring. Cartier's historical codes are revisited without nostalgia. The blue-green color so dear to Louis Cartier, this chromatic agreement he called his "peacock decor " reappears on Olorra , punctuated with turquoises and lapis lazulis cut on work, and on the Kinkō ring, a modern interpretation of the Toi & Moi. The Tutti Frutti, part of the maison 's repertoire since the mid-1920s, finds a new voice in Tutti Kanya , articulated around an exceptional engraved Zambian emerald of 30.33 carats and punctuated with a ruby pendant. As for the feline, another signature, it embodies itself this time as a tiger ready to pounce at the nape of the neck on the Haryma necklace, on a staircase composed of five imperial topazes of 28.04 carats, white, yellow and orange diamonds, and garnets. Two more parts of Le Chœur des Pierres are planned, we can't wait ! /public-objects/6d7d11e7-1147-4162-b1b4-91d04707d00a-a575074e-b3ab-4d60-bdfb-b133419068e3-EXCLUPR00189_HJ_EDITORIAL_SERIES_NM_TUTTI%20KANYA_RVB_24x30.webp Image sélectionnée
